Our Approach

We deliver consultancy advice, individual coaching and team based learning that is specifically tailored to the needs of each client. This can be in a traditional consulting or training setting, or action based/informal learning where we work with you on a particular project and deliver an agreed set of skills.

We seek to make complex ideas practical and impactful in a business context.  Our work relies strongly on a cognitive behavioural coaching model including evidence-based research and thinking.

We strive to ensure that our coaching and training is “hands-on” and delivers practical skills that our clients can use in their everyday business roles. For example, we incorporate components of performance and acting techniques to help clients achieve exceptional presentation skills.

We always work collaboratively with our clients to develop customised solutions, spending time on the diagnostics and on follow-up. At a simple level, this can mean a one hour session assisting a small group to polish up their client meeting skills, or developing a unique set of case studies based on the client’s situation for a new training programme.  It may be through delivering skills-based learning in an action learning environment such as a project to develop a RFP response to a tender, or working as part of a team to develop a strategy for a key contract renewal.  Action learning gives us ‘skin in the game’ because there is a clear line of sight between our involvement and the business outcome.

We leave behind tools and models which are easy to understand, easy to use and easy to pass on to others.

Our Associates

Ripasso works with a select group of like-minded associates in complementary consulting fields.  We will happily recommend an associate if this provides you with a better solution.  Our associates work in the following areas:

About our name “Ripasso”

(pronounced re–pass-o ……… with an Italian accent!!!)

The name Ripasso (meaning “repassed”) is based on a wine making technique used in northern Italy.

The big rich red produced is the result of re-fermenting the grape variety Valpolicella on the partially dried grape skins from which Amarone (a very ripe, raisiny, full-bodied wine) has been pressed. This process used only in rare vintage years produces a wine with richer, more concentrated flavour, better colour and fewer harsh tannins.  It transforms a young fresh wine into a complex, rich full bodied wine suitable for extended aging in barrel and bottle.

At Ripasso, we like to think that through a careful blend of needs assessment, and focused training and coaching we can nurture, enrich and improve the abilities of our clients in much the same way that this celebrated winemaking technique improves their wine.

Magnifico!

Our latest recommendation and drinking well now is the 2012 Roccolo Grassi Valpolicella Superiore. This is a super-quality Valpolicella - up to 50% of the grapes have been air-dried to concentrated flavours, just like a top Ripasso.
